We provide vital critical medical care by land and air, across Wiltshire and Bath.

In effect, we give the same level of critical care as a hospital but bring the expert team and specialist equipment to the people in need. And we do it as fast as humanly possible.

On call all year round for up to 19 hours, on average they respond to four incidents daily, attending by helicopter and critical care car.

As a registered charity, we don’t receive government funding, relying entirely on voluntary donations and support from our local Wiltshire and Bath communities.

Your donations save lives.

Klaire's Story

In July 2023, I was cycling to work in Corsham when a car hit me at high speed. I don’t remember the moment of impact, but I was left with a shattered elbow and a traumatic brain injury.

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance’s Charity’s critical care team arrived by car, within minutes. I was told later that I had managed to move my bike out of the road, but by the time the crew arrived, my condition was rapidly deteriorating.

Doctor Jono Holme and critical care paramedic Craig Wilkins gave me hospital-level care right there on the roadside. I was intubate to take over my breathing, then taken by land ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol – a major trauma centre.

“I spent two weeks in hospital and I’m still recovering. I’ve had three operations on my arm and I no live with epilepsy, memory loss and fatigue. I can only work part time and I’m no longer able to drive. Life is very different. But I’m still here – and I’m here for my husband and our four children – thanks to the lifesaving care I received that day.”

Klaire said: “I’ve always supported local charities, but I didn’t realise just how much this one does until I needed them myself. I live in Corsham and often see the helicopter flying overhead or landing quite close to our house.”
