We provide vital critical medical care by land and air, across Wiltshire and Bath.

In effect, we give the same level of critical care as a hospital but bring the expert team and specialist equipment to the people in need. And we do it as fast as humanly possible.

On call all year round for up to 19 hours, on average they respond to four incidents daily, attending by helicopter and critical care car.

As a registered charity, we don’t receive government funding, relying entirely on voluntary donations and support from our local Wiltshire and Bath communities.

Colin's Story

Colin Dredge says it meant the world to meet the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance crew who saved his life in December 2022.

The 69-year-old from Salisbury discussed his cardiac arrest and the vital role of a defibrillator during his visit. Colin collapsed at work, and his colleague Miles, a first aider, quickly began CPR. A defibrillator on site delivered two shocks before the ambulance arrived.

Pilot Rob Backus, doctor Reuben Cooper, and critical care paramedic Paul Rock treated Colin and accompanied him to Salisbury District Hospital, where he received a coronary stent.

“It was so important that Miles was trained in first aid and CPR. I’m also truly grateful to my employers that they installed a defibrillator on site. it can make all the difference in an emergency like mine.”

Colin said: “I’m so grateful for the speed and expertise of the crew. Having a defibrillator and trained colleagues saved my life.”
